Martin is an island in the Caribbean. It is divided into two parts. The French side, St. Martin , and the Dutch side, Sint Maarten. If you have ever traveled to the island, most likely it was on a Cruise Ship. It is a popular stop for many cruise lines that sail in the Caribbean. For me, this is the preferred way to enjoy the island. And I for one prefer the French side. We have been going there for years now.

Sint Maarten - Saint Martin is famous for its nude beaches. Many visitors tried it here for the first time and never went back to a textile beach to enjoy the sun and surf. If you consider visiting Orient Beach, the island's most famous beach, read up on what to do and not to do on a 'clothing optional' beach. Nudists enjoying the beach on Tintamarre Island off the coast of Orient Beach. The trouble starts with the terminology: a beach that is designated to be enjoyed unencumbered by any textiles is labeled 'clothing optional' on the American side of the Atlantic Ocean.
St Maarten - St Martin has a fairly relaxed attitude towards beach nudity. The island is the leading Caribbean destination for nudists, with Orient Beach an officialy sanctioned clothing optional beach. Even though the Dutch side doesn't advertise 'official' nude beaches, Cupecoy Beach has been for decades the Dutch side clothing optional spot. There are several remote beaches, where nobody will complain if you swim in the buff. On the French side , there are many empty beaches and visitors can dress or undress as they please - again, nobody really cares - no matter what official publications state. Also, the uninhabited island of Tintamarre - about 2 miles off shore and a popular destination for day charter boats - seems to bring out the hidden nudist in everyone.
